Routines can literally make you feel better. I know, it might sound sort of crazy to think that something as dull sounding as a routine could make you actually feel better, but it is true! There are even some studies showing how establishing and maintaining a regular routine can help manage mood disorders. There was a study reported by the American Psychological Association, which looked at 175 adults diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The participants used behavioral therapy to help improve stability in daily routines. The study showed that regular routines helped prevent mood swings longer than those who just took medication. There you go- your official prescription for happiness is to get a routine.
